A mental health first aider will provide assistance within their scope as the first point of contact but should not take the place of a qualified mental health professional. To link employees with professionals, Taipan provides an Employee Assistance Program (EAP) through external provider, Lifeworks. Lifeworks provides free confidential counselling, with up to six sessions per issue, to Taipan employees and their immediately family members (children must be at least 8 years old). Lifeworks can be contacted 24/7 on 1300 361 008 or through the chat function on the Lifeworks app.
