An employee is entitled to redundancy pay if the employee’s employment is terminated at Taipan because the company no longer requires the job to be done by anyone.
When faced with the difficult task of making employee’s position redundant, Taipan will ensure that the requisite steps required by law are followed.
This includes but is not limited to procedural requirements as well as providing statutory notice periods and severance pay entitlements. Before a retrenchment decision is made all possible avenues for retraining or redeployment will be canvassed, including offers of positions at a lesser grade, should that be a viable alternative.
